About

Hello, world! The Coronaviruses pandemic has forced us all to live in difficult situations. Most of us have confined ourselves within small spaces ― whether it could be your flat or a local area. Who was expecting this to happen at the beginning of 2020? What a year we've been through!

While we all find it difficult to survive the period of Covid-19 in many ways, it feels as though the world has certainly become smaller, thanks to Zoom and websites. I want to share my experiences and perspectives by way of comparing situations in the UK and Japan.

Also, as I have a literary background, I'd like to think about how people lived in old times. Their lifestyles and some inconveniences seen from the modern point of view were similar to what we're experiencing now. I'd like to start with making quotes from Jane Austen's novels, as I found her writings to be insightful and chosen passages would make us think about how we should continue to have humour at difficult times or be sympathetic to others.

I'm also building content on a page dedicated to Jane Austen. I have lived in places related to her, including Chawton, a village where she spent her late-life and wrote her full-length novels. I will introduce you to lovely English sites in both English and Japanese languages.

I hope you enjoy reading my posts. Stay safe!
